Rock- A-Billies in Arvada

There is a new bar and venue in Arvada catering to the Rockabilly music scene of Colorado. Rock-A-Billies is the name and a great neighborhood bar is their game, located at 12363 West 64th Ave about 20 minutes from Denver and well worth the drive.

Owner's Jimmy Nigg and his brother Joey opened the place around January and it has been rock' in ever since. With ambient lights, a pool table, pinball machines, a giant mural of Johnny Cash and various photos of a time past. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. They have a great menu with a mean "Rumble Burger" which I might add Jimmy came up with himself. I have been told it is the best burger in town from the patrons. They also offer sandwiches and a variety of finger foods. They have a full bar and plenty on tap all reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and fun.

Rock-A-Billies offers live music Fri- Sun. If they can do things the way they want to there will never be a cover charge. For more info on happenings check Rock- A- Billies website for upcoming events.

I attended the "Rockabilly Ribs and Rods Car show (the first car show) event the place was packed. Featuring: Johnny Barber and the Living Deads, the Juke Joint Cruisers, Stay tuned for more about these two fantastic Colorado bands. Also performing Dj Cruis'in Dave and a little burlesque performance by Miss April Teaze.

Fords, Chevys, and Ramblers oh my! The car show was a hit even with the searing heat toping some where in the 90's. Dj Crus'in Dave kept the tunes spinning outdoors along with contests and prizes.
The show ended around 5pm,the evening continued inside. What a great night with great music and some really fantastic people. Go check it out.
